C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Absolutely Destroys a Demon

Modified Dodge Challenger Demon is no match for the quickest C7 Corvette ZR1 in the world.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the quickest factory-stock quarter mile drag car to date, but that doesn’t matter when taking on a C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 that has been modified to be the quickest of its kind in the world. The video above comes from the Demonology YouTube channel and while this supercharged Challenger Demon is modified, it is nowhere near quick enough to even hang with the black C7 ZR1 built by Advanced Modern Performance.

Demon Versus Random Opponents

The video begins with the red 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon that serves as the focal point of the YouTube channel taking on a few different competitors on the eighth mile drag strip. The first race is with a third generation Camaro with a carbed big block that is being driven by a guy named Cody, who just bought the car and is making his first passes with this machine.

Like the rest of the runs in this video, we don’t get to see the elapsed time for either of the cars and in this case, the host of the channel states that it is because the Camaro owner doesn’t want his times known, but that doesn’t explain why we don’t see times for the rest of the runs. Our guess is that Demonology isn’t running great times, so he doesn’t share any of the times from the runs.

Next, the Demon beats a sport bike, an S10 Chevy race truck and an El Camino with nitrous, none of which pose a real challenge in the eighth mile, but when the Challenger takes on a CTS-V, the Caddy wagon takes the easy win when the Dodge red lights. The Demon comes back to beat a Camaro that is tuned by Advanced Modern Performance in what is a pretty solid race by both cars.

Demon Versus C7 Corvette ZR1

Finally, after winning a bunch of easy races, the 2018 Dodge Demon takes on the same C7 Corvette ZR1 that holds the world record for the quickest quarter mile time by a new LT5-powered car. Thanks to the AMP ZR5 package, this Corvette has run an 8.57 at 160 miles per hour, which is as fast as the quickest Demons in the world, while the Demonology car has not run numbers anywhere near that.

If you know both of these cars, the outcome is obvious, but as the footage shows, the AMP ZR1 takes a lead at the starting line and the driver never looks back, crushing the 2018 Demon in the short drag race.
