34K Mile C2 Corvette Barn Find Looks like an Intriguing Project
Stored away since 1977, this two-owner C2 Corvette is amazingly intact despite being neglected for decades.
Barn finds are all the rage these days, whether you’re talking about Corvettes or not. There’s just something undeniably cool about uncovering a car that’s remained in storage for decades, after all. And oftentimes, these patina’d rides make solid restoration candidates. Or just high dollar quick flips for those who discover them. Which is exactly what this interesting C2 Corvette up for grabs on eBay appears to be.
To be fair, the seller claims to they originally wanted to restore it. But then they “figured” they’d try and sell it as is. Can’t really blame them, given the value of a rare find like this compared to the cost of restoration. With a claimed 34,000 miles on the odometer and the 327/365 under the hood, it’s undoubtedly a cool score. With what appears to be a nice body, relatively clean interior, and no rust.
According to the seller, this C2 Corvette sat in storage from 1977 and has only been previously owned by two brothers. The second sibling reportedly let it sit all that time, but went out and turned the motor over once a year. Thus, the engine still turns over manually, which is a good sign for the next owner.
Sure, there are a few non-original parts on the engine, including a set of headers. But from the looks of things, this reported “numbers-matching” C2 Corvette is very much intact and mostly original. And if the story from the original owners proves true, we have no reason to doubt the low mileage number is in fact legit. Add all of that together, and that makes this nicely preserved barn find a pretty intriguing score!
