Would You Flip a New Corvette If Presented With a Profitable Offer?

Corvette Forum member offered $9k profit for his C7 Z06, which is an offer exactly no one would turn down.

In the world of cars, flipping is somewhat of a dirty word. Most enthusiasts can’t stand the folks that buy low and immediately sell high, simply looking to take advantage of those who many not know any better. But as they say, our morals tend to go out the window when we’re personally faced with the potential of making some money. So when we came across this Corvette Forum thread started by member R8Z51 recently, it had us wondering. Would you flip your Corvette if someone offered you a healthy profit for it?

“I just purchased a Z06 and have someone willing to give me $9,000 more than what I paid for it. Do I sell? I searched the entire country for a replacement, and there is nothing else out there like mine with extremely low mileage (4k).”

Our immediate thought was yes, we’d part with that thing immediately. And unsurprisingly, most other Corvette Forum members felt the same way.

“I’d sell it, go out and buy another Z06, then take $5k of the profit and install a kick-*** custom stereo,” said 2016C7.paul. “Then I’d put the remaining $4k in the bank for a rainy day. There are plenty of Z06s in the U.S. for sale. I’m guessing Canada is the X-factor here. What would it take for you to hop the border and buy what you want down here?”

“Yes, what is there to think about? Take it and run,” added Sixgun95.

“If someone puts more money in your hand for a car than you paid for it, close your fist,” said SilverGhost.

“I wouldn’t have had time to put this on the forum, I would have been busy cashing the check,” joked astaggs.

Of course, there is more to the story than this. The OP does in fact live in Canada, and might have a hard time finding another Z06 like his.

“Not many for sale in Canada, especially with the options I have on mine. But I think I’m going to go for it.”

Regardless, so far, not a single person thinks flipping this Corvette is a bad idea. But we want to know what you think. Would you take the $9k profit here and run? Perhaps order a C8 instead? Head over here and let us (and the OP) know!
