C8 Corvette Options Wish List

Corvette Forum members weigh in on options or features they’d like to see on Chevy’s latest and greatest C8 Corvette.

By all accounts, the C8 Corvette is an amazing car selling for an amazing price. But as they say, nothing is ever perfect. And there are obviously at least a handful of things that buyers would love to be able to add to their C8, whether that be in the form of standard or optional equipment. And if we were GM, we’d be paying particular attention to this Corvette Forum thread. Mainly because it’s chock full of great ideas and things actual owners wish their new ‘Vettes came with. Member bobgolub kicked things off with his short list.

“I love my C8, but there are a few things I wish it had.

  1. Adaptive cruise control. I have this on some other cars, and I guarantee that once you use it there is no going back. It requires a radar dome in front, so it does interfere somewhat with the look of the car, but it can be done without marring the looks. My Boxster has it.
  2. Rain sensing wipers.
  3. Adaptive cornering lights. These are a great safety feature, especially if you want to do some spirited night motoring.

Now, none of these items are must-haves or deal breakers. And I get that they keep the cost of the car down. But in a perfect world they would be available, even if they were an additional cost.”

Of course, there are a few folks that are glad the C8 doesn’t have any of those things. Some people just believe in a less-intrusive-tech-is-more approach. But regardless, the list continues to grow with a few more tech suggestions from RKCRLR.

“Add wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity and auto dimming headlights. However, all these options should be exclusive to the 2LT/3LT trims to let the people that don’t want these have a choice with the 1LT.”

And while some suggest additional safety features, CGZ06 points out some potential pitfalls with employing them in the C8.

“The Corvette will probably never have automatic braking, unless the operator has the ability to disable it. And lawyers probably will not let that happen. Can you imagine the loss in sales due to the customers that will/want to/might track their cars? Auto braking is not compatible with track use.”
