Upgrading Your C8 with Forgeline & HRE Wheels
Custom Wheels for Less recently posted a few C8 Corvettes with Forgeline & HRE wheels on the forums. Here are our favorites!
What’s one of the easiest ways to change the looks of your Corvette? The wheels, of course. Choosing the right set for your ‘Vette makes all the difference in the world, allowing you to stand out among your peers.
This is especially true if, as with the C8 Corvette’s OEM options, the factory wheels aren’t up to par with your styling needs. Recently, one of our vendors, CW4L — Custom Wheels for Less — created two threads in our C8 forum, showing off the new C8 in Forgeline and HRE wheels. Here are our favorites from each thread.
Forgeline Rolls Off the Line
If the Corvette is America’s sports car, then it’s only right to use wheels made in America. Forgeline makes their wheels in their Dayton, Ohio home, only needing to source the tire pressure stem from outside.
This C8 here is rocking the company’s classic VX1 wheel in Satin Bronze. The black body draped over them makes for a classic look that even chickens love to gawk over.
Want to go drag racing with your new C8? Check out this orange bomber campaigned by Ohio’s Carlyle Racing. The fat rear tires wrap themselves around a set of Forgeline Beadlocks, guaranteed to stay together on those hard launches.
Here’s another C8 in VX1s, this time in a dark gray finish. Seen from afar, most will think those are fresh from the factory. They are, but not from the one in Bowling Green.
Finally, here’s a red C8 shown with its OEM wheels, then a set of black VX1s. You can see the difference the Forgelines make to the overall appearance compared to stock.
HRE Brings Swiss-American Flare
The Corvette is an all-American. Its styling, though, draws from the playbooks of European design. The C8 takes things up to a new level, lining up with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini due to its rear mid-engine configuration.
Thus, San Diego’s HRE is ready to give the C8 the right European flare, made here in the U.S.A. The gloss charcoal P104SC units are right at home under the car, giving the ‘Vette an Italian zazz.
If you love that chrome, and are disappointed the C8 doesn’t have a single chrome wheel to its name, HRE has got you. Their Ankry AN10 Series 1 wheels in polished clear shine bright like a diamond.
Love the bronze look? This set of P107SC wheels give the C8 enough depth without going into the black.
Speaking of black, though, this black C8 is all about the champagne. Specifically, the Ankry RS1 RETROSeries wheels in Brushed Champagne. It’s a dramatic look, for certain.
What wheels would you put on your C8 Corvette? Why not share your thoughts in the Corvette Forum forums.
