For two years, pair of brothers in Virginia & North Carolina delivered updates on ’64 C2 convertible project. Here’s where it stands.

The C2 era of the Corvette was the thread connecting the C1 to the C3 and beyond. No longer was it a British-inspired roadster, yet it wouldn’t be the curvy wonder to come until the 1968 model year, a shape which would evolve over the decades until the C8 era flipped the script (and engine placement).

The C2 also has plenty of fans who love its muscular appearance and potential for big power. Two such fans in our Corvette Forum C1 & C2 forum adopted a ’64 C2 convertible over two years ago, beginning a thread still alive today. Let’s see where things stand today, and how it all began.

“This is a joint project between my brother (Raleigh, NC) and myself (Richmond, VA),” wrote hcallaway on April 9, 2018. “We have both been Corvette owners in the past […] The Vette was purchased in Webster NY from Elmer’s Auto Parts Inc.”

The brothers made the hours-long journey to pick up the C2. However, they stopped for the night in Pennsylvania due to snow. And speaking of PA, the two-owner ‘Vette first lived in the Keystone State for 10 years. It then landed in New York, where its second owner drove it until 1975. Total miles driven came to nearly 21,800 miles before its shelving.
