Coming straight from Canada, final-year C2 features rare Tuxedo Black/Saddle combo, was Bloomington Gold-certified in 2017.
The C2 era of the Corvette occurred at the right time. On the horizon lay the muscle car era, where more power was never enough. The new ‘Vette’s muscular looks fit the part, and it wouldn’t be long until a big motor or three delivered on the promise. By the end, in 1967, one could order a C2 with a 435-horsepower 427 V8 under the long hood.
Such is the case with this special ’67 C2 coupe. Heading to the auction block of Mecum Indy July 10 through 18, it’s a stunner with accolades for days.
For starters, the C2 features a rare color combo: Tuxedo Black over Saddle. Only 815 wore this combo in 1967. It was sold new in Vancouver, British Columbia with factory side exhaust. After a few decades, Pennsylvania’s County Corvette restored the black stallion to near-perfection. The final results netted the ‘Vette Bloomington Gold certification in 2017, and a National NCRS Top Flight award in 2019.
