Texas Man Lists C8 Corvette For Sale… Wants $2Million!?!

2020 Corvette Stingray Listed for sale for $2 Million in Amarillo Texas

C8 with a $2 Million asking price proves everything really is bigger in Texas, but we aren’t quite sure if this is a joke.

Alright, we all accept that the 2020 model year C8 Corvette’s production stop leaves the door open for some lofty resale prices down the road for these first-year beasts. There were even some folks who have a C8 on order that are not excited at the prospect of getting a 2021 model year instead. However, we think this guy might be pulling the trigger a little soon.

This C8 is for sale on the always exciting Facebook Marketplace with an asking price of $2 Million. Yes, you read that right. Two million smackeroos. For that price, you get a wingless 2LT coupe with the carbon package and 1,300 miles. Which, according to the seller, Zane Prescott, makes it “one of a kind.”

You’re probably wondering what the thinking behind that price point is, right? We certainly were. After all, $2 million is enough to buy you a used Bugatti Veyron and a three-bedroom house in the greater Phoenix area. We could try to justify it to you, but Prescott did a great job of spelling it out for us.

“The first c8 sold for $3million at auction, and that’s what I base the value of my car at. Serious buyers only. That’s the price, or I’ll keep my car,” states Prescott’s Facebook ad.

Comparing a middle-trim car with 1,300 miles on it to the very first C8 ever produced seems like a bit of a stretch. We digress; he’s selling the car, so he picks the price. Just be thankful it’s so low compared to his plans.

The Theoretical Value is… Limitless!

Oh, you thought we were done here? Certainly not.

Prescott’s ad continues to state that once it goes off to the iconic Hennessey Performance, it will return with their 1,200 horsepower package and another million dollars chucked on to the asking price. Why not, right? Shoot for the sky and try not to miss. This guy certainly is aiming quite high.

Nevermind the fact that modifying a car that is destined to be a collector (or one you think might eventually be, anyway) is generally frowned upon.

This has to be a joke, right?

We can only hope that this ad was some sort of bait to get the attention of outlets like ourselves. If it is, congrats, Mr. Prescott. You got us. That being said, if it isn’t, we have a few pieces of advice for all of you lovely folks to consider when creating a for sale ad.

It’s probably in your best interest to remove any stickers from the car. See the “Ok Boomer” and three-leaf clover sticker on this C8 for reference. We might add, though, that clover seems to be missing a leaf that may be necessary to pull in the asking price. Additionally, you may consider hiring someone to take some high-quality photos. One or two that show all of the interior and not just close-up bits and pieces might be of some assistance.

Most importantly, though, we advise you to look up other similar cars for sale. You know, just in case you have yours listed 1.9 million dollars higher than everyone else—just some food for thought.
