Superhero Hot Wheels? Mattel Unveils He-Man, Skeletor, Overwatch, and Shark Truck Greatness!

Skeletor hot rod

I didn’t know I wanted a Skeletor hot rod, but you can bet I’m going to buy it and a bunch of these toy cars. You know, for my kid. You believe me, right?

One of the main reasons I love all things car and truck-related is thanks to collecting Hot Wheels and Matchbox models as a kid. And I’ve started growing my daughter’s collection as well, so the tradition continues. What about you? Did you have die-cast toy trucks growing up? Are you still collecting? Do you have kids or grandkids who love toy cars?

If so, we’ve got a fun first-look at the newest character-based trucks and cars Hot Wheels will be releasing over the next year or two. Starting with my favorite (pictured above). Remember Bruce from Finding Nemo? Now he’s a six-wheel shark truck!

Next up, Masters of the Universe. Have you ever looked at He-Man and said to yourself, I wonder what he’d look like as a Mad Max off-road muscle car? Now you know. Skeletor’s in here too as a killer hot rod. (Pun intended.)

For anyone who plays Overwatch, Hot Wheels has Genji, Diva, and Soldier 76 inspired supercars that look like they’d be home in the Batman universe.

Speaking of the DC Universe, the next Wonder Woman film, WW84, is set to launch later this year (assuming movie theaters can actually open) and here’s a look at Wonder Woman and Cheetah inspired cars. Cheetah looks a little Lamboesque, to my eyes.

If you’re more of a Marvel fan, Hot Wheels has a Black Widow character-inspired car for Task Master.

Sticking with Disney, for the princess in your life, here’s a Snow White & the Seven Dwarves roadster.

Or if you ever watched Nickelodeon growing up in the ’90s, Hot Wheels has transformed Rugratts Tommy, Chuckie, and the Reptar into a dump truck, beach buggy, and monster truck wrecker… thing.

Last, but certainly not least, if you’re into more Japanese geek culture, check out these sweet Mario Kart and Hello Kity driver models.
