Unfortunate C8 Corvette may have rubbed up against a concrete retaining wall at the track. This hurts us as much as it hurts you.
Let’s face it, 2020 belongs to Corvette. The release of the C8 ‘Vette was and is big news, leading to big sales. And we don’t need to tell you how very remarkable this car is. (Although we certainly did, loving our experience behind the wheel.) But it isn’t all mid-engined fun all the time.
Recently, a picture hit Instagram showing a new, white 2020 Corvette after one heck of a run-in. Modern.Muscle 365 spotted the unfortunate scene on the road.
After initially seeing the gorgeous C8 ‘Vette on a trailer, it doesn’t look that bad.
Until you see that damage up close. Ouch. That door looks torn down to shreds, revealing bits of the fiberglass and other interior components. The body panels have not as much damage, but certainly enough to make this an incredible headache overall.
“Not normal car spotting but here we go, wrecked C8,” Modern.Muscle 365 wrote. It is clearly a pretty major car swipe. And some folks on Instagram had some theories.
“Looks like a retaining wall rub!” wrote Cirtos. We are inclined to believe that, the damage definitely looks consistent with that kind of knock ’em sock ’em.
Other guesses varied from track accident, to driver error. Of course, some Debbie Downers thought it was all a fake.

So, ever so coolly, Modern.Muscle 365 just dropped a few more receipts. Yup. Looks like one trashed Corvette to us.
We certainly assume that if you bought a 2020 Corvette, you made certain it was insured to the hilt. So, let’s hope this driver is well covered. Really well covered, because this is going to require a lot of work.
Without the benefit of getting a good look at this baby up close and in the garage, we would say that it definitely doesn’t appear to be completely totaled. Let’s just hope a great garage gets this sweet ride back on the road soon.
And if not, we fly our flags at half mast for this fallen comrade.
