Dealer Shares Awesome Corvette Delivery Stories

Selling and shipping Corvettes all around the country sounds like a dream job. Mike Furman makes it look easy.

Mike Furman of Criswell Chevrolet is not only a forum sponsor — he’s a very active member of the community, too. With nearly 20,000 posts as of this writing, he’s become a very important part of what makes Corvette Forum what it is today.

As you can imagine, he’s been very busy lately with C8 Corvette deliveries. However, instead of taking a break from posting, Furman started a thread to share stories from happy C8 owners. We’ll share a few here.

Ron F. of San Francisco, California, ordered a black on black 3LT with red accents. After a detail, the car looks stunning. He spoke of it in glowing terms. He lavished particular praise on the suspension.

In his words, “The suspension, without mag ride, is noticeably better than the C7 which my wife said was her all-time favorite ride. This was even over the Lotus Evora, which I thought was better. The C8 is nimble, stable, firm yet light. It feels like a moon rover with those big puffy tires floating weightlessly over all terrain. You hear the bumps and you see them, but you don’t feel them. Go into a turn with a little speed and it feels like claws extend from the tires to give you infinite grip around corners. Truly remarkable!” He may have a job writing for Corvette Forum if he keeps this up.

Criswell Chevrolet is located in Maryland, but Furman organizes shipping and courtesy delivery all over the country. John and Sharon W. of Grants Pass, Oregon shared a cool story about picking up their white over red Z51 package car.

“We left the dealership with two beautifully clean cars and started driving south back towards Grants Pass. Almost immediately when we got on I-5 southbound, two eighteen-wheelers went by us and were honking their horns and the drivers were waving at us out their windows.”

Ken B. is lucky enough to split his time between Florida and Illinois. He had planned a Corvette Museum delivery, but decided with everything going on that staying home was safer. No problem — Furman scrambled and organized having the car shipped to Illinois.

This car is the first Shadow Gray C8 Corvette we’ve seen. We think it looks terrific. He says he can’t wait to drive it. We can’t blame him.

Conway B. of Grant, Florida ordered his 2020 Corvette in Torch Red with a Sky Cool Grey interior. He also checked the all-important Z51 box and added the high wing spoiler.

Furman organized the installation of the spoiler, as well as shipping to Florida. Even with all of these deliveries, Furman still had a chance to enjoy his own C8 Corvette.

Furman himself would even join in on the fun, giving a review of his own 2020 Corvette. We really like his unique color combo — silver with a blue interior. Furman says, “I knew from the very first moment I viewed the 8th generation Corvette that my 18th Corvette, a 1967 Marina Blue coupe would go up for sale quickly and it sold within minutes of the very first phone call.” That’s high praise indeed.
