Dealer Leaks Alleged 2021 Model Year C8 Changes

C8 reportedly getting new colors, carbon pieces, wireless CarPlay, and several other interesting updates for 2021.

While many folks haven’t even taken delivery of their 2020 C8 Corvettes yet, it’s already time to start looking ahead to 2021. Mostly because, well, you can’t order a 2020 anymore. And lest you thought that GM would rest on its laurels in regards to their all-new ‘Vette, think again. That is, if a document from Aaron Adams of Sims Chevrolet in Vienna Township, Michigan is to be believed.

Adams recently posted a document he reportedly obtained via GM’s Order Workbench to the C8 Owner’s Group on Facebook. And Corvette Forum member BahamaTodd subsequently posted it here, where it quickly became a hot topic in the forums. There are several notable changes here, including a couple of new color options and some new carbon fiber trim.

One thing a lot of folks are excited to see is wireless Apple CarPlay. Quite a few have previously griped about its absence on the 2020 Corvette, in fact.

“The wireless Apple CarPlay is for certain. I knew about this several weeks ago, as my neighbor is a GM engineer who confirmed it. But I didn’t think it was appropriate to say anything. Made it easier to accept I was getting a ’21 instead of a ’20,” said Broken Halo.

“Ala cart MRC and wireless CarPlay are two features/options I wanted. I now wonder what the delay would be to switch from 2020 to 2021 being status 3000,” added WGGS.

Many are pleased to see the new color options, even though it’s hard to figure out exactly what they’ll look like. Mostly because, well, they’re brand new. But mre1974 would like to see some “supercar” like hues.

“I’m disappointed there are no vibrant colors like Synergy Green or Krypton Green. Or the continuation or the pee yellow instead of a highlighter yellow color. The C8 deserves some wild vibrant color options.”

Quite a few folks are also pleased to see that Magnetic Ride will also be a standalone option from the Z51 package for 2021, including rrsperry.

“FE2 would be a nice way to save $5000…. (since that really the only reason I wanted Z51…) Well that could make the 3lt choice easy.”

Still, there are many others who feel like the newest C8 still needs a few more things. Notably, wireless Android Auto capability. And others would like to have the ability to choose their own custom color, something many exotic car manufacturers allow. So we’re obviously curious to hear what you think.
