After months of searching, CorvetteForum member finds the perfect C2 to add to their collection.
We’re pretty certain that no one on earth has any sort of dislike for the C2 Corvette. Easily one of the most beautiful cars ever conceived, the 2nd gen version of America’s sports car wears a nearly perfect design. So you can’t blame CorvetteForum member Brenda1 for searching far and wide for the perfect C2 to add to their collection. Needless to say, we’re pretty sure they found it in this stunning white convertible.
“After looking and looking at literally thousands of C2 Corvettes for sale, I just purchased this very cool 1964. This car just stopped me in my tracks. It feels like this is the car I have been looking for my entire life. The inspection went through with flying colors. The car is bagged up and waiting for its ride with Reliable Carriers to its new home. It’s a 327/300 numbers matching car with a Muncie 4-speed transmission, AM/FM radio, and both hard top and soft top in white. Trim tag 936/491DE identifies it as a correct white car with a two tone white/red interior and knock-off wheels.”
It’s a gorgeous ride for sure, and plenty of other members chime in to congratulate the OP, including phil2302. Some also point out that the tach isn’t original, but who cares?
“Wow congrats on your beautiful car! I have always favored the convertibles and yours is stunning. The two-color interior has always been one of coolest-looking C2 features and red/white really pops. Looks great with those K/O wheels, just make sure they are installed correctly and are on tight before you go out cruising. I wouldn’t worry about the tach and personally I would not have mentioned it. In all likelihood, after almost 60 years, that’s probably one of a bunch of small parts that are not original to the car. It’s very possible the whole cluster was replaced. But why care just drive!!”
Indeed, the buyer is aware of this little discrepancy on their C2. But they’re obviously not worried about it, and we wouldn’t be either.
“The tach was the first thing I took up with the seller, and indeed it was replaced. The previous owner had it for over ten years. And like many of us that own nice cars, he never drove it. Too nice to drive, I have done the same thing myself. But I am planning on driving it a lot. I joined the NCRS before I went looking months ago. Consulted the Corvette spec guide and had the help of two NCRS judges prior to buying the car. Everything is well-sorted with the car. And most importantly, when I saw it I knew it was the one. This is my fifth Corvette and I am a 10-year member of this forum. I do believe this will be the last Corvette I buy. It’s a keeper.”
If it’s good enough for the OP, it’s good enough for us. You can check out more of this gorgeous C2 by heading over here. And if you’ve got a sweet Corvette to show off, whether you just bought it or have had it for years, be sure and start your own thread and uploads some pics of it, too!
