Rick Conti stipulates that Corvette might introduce new carbon fiber accessories for the 2021 Stingray models

The build and price configurator of the 2021 Corvette Stingray is now live. The 2021 model year is the first time the eight-generation Corvette will be offered in both hardtop coupe and convertible body types. We recently used the new online tool to customize the most expensive C8 Stingray money can buy.

Now according to the YouTube channel Rick Corvette Conti, the Bowling Green sports car might soon receive a whole new range of carbon fiber accessories. The new additions will include three major components which are not available on the online configurator right now.

Conti claims Corvette will soon add a carbon fiber bow to the roof of the mid-engine sports car which will sit atop the engine bay cover. Seeing how the company has not made any official announcements confirming the same, Conti also speculates that the photographed bow might just be a decal job and not an actual carbon fiber panel.

The YouTuber further reports that Corvette will also offer add a high wing spoiler which will receive the same exposed carbon weave treatment. Other than the carbon finish, the overall design and size of the new unit remain the same as the high wing spoilers we have seen on C8 ‘Vettes before.

The final piece of the carbon fiber package is a pair of body blades (boomerangs) that have been designed to accentuate the air intakes on either side. Unfortunately, It seems like Corvette’s carbon contraptions are limited to just styling accessories for now and not components that will mechanically improve the sports car’s performance.

Conti also approves of our all-weather floor liners selection with Jake logo that costs $205 but he is not crazy about the aforementioned roof bows. Conti explains,” I don’t like the way it looks here. I think it only looks good if you have the exposed carbon-fiber roof and that way it carries that carbon fiber-look into the B-pillar.”

We know that C8 Corvette’s 6.2-liter LT2 V8 motor is quite a capable powerplant and we expect the company might use carbon fiber to develop mechanical upgrades for the C8 Corvette in the future. Ares design managed to retune the LT2 motor to produce 705 horsepower using undisclosed mechanical upgrades which were sourced from stateside suppliers.

In its stock state of tune, the motor produces 490 HP of max power and 465 lb-ft of torque which can be bumped up to 495 HP and 470 lb-ft by opting for either the $5,995 Z51 Performance Package or the $1,195 Performance Exhaust.
