Corvette Academy Adds 23 New Videos to C8 Era Library

2020 Corvette Coupe + Convertible

New videos cover topics including breaking-in your C8 Corvette, track prep, maintaining your new ride, drive modes, and more.

The C8-era Corvette is unlike any ‘Vette before it. Instead of a long nose with a big V8 in front of the windshield, it has a long tail with a big V8 behind your head. It still has room for your golf clubs, especially if you get the convertible; no targa top to take up space, after all. And speaking of the convertible, it’s the first topless ‘Vette with a retractable hard top.

In short, the C8 Corvette is a lot to take in. Lucky for all of the new owners now and in the future, Chevrolet’s Corvette Academy is there to provide tons of help. In fact, Automotive World reports the academy received 23 new videos for its growing library.

The 23 videos in the Accelerated Preparation series cover important topics for new C8 Corvette owners to go over once their ride arrives home. Such topics include: breaking-in your new car, maintaining it, and getting it ready for the track.

Most of the videos include in-video captioning, plus plenty of excellent close-ups on any given step in the lesson. For example, the above video provides the steps needed to gain access to your new Corvette if the battery is low or dead. There are also steps to follow to provide access to your ‘Vette’s battery compartment, tucked neatly away under the plastic cladding in the front storage compartment.

According to Motor1, the Corvette Academy library to date covers the short-lived 2020 Corvette. That means things like the forthcoming wireless Apple CarPlay for 2021 won’t be mentioned in the 47-video collection. However, nearly all else about the 2020 Corvette applies for 2021. The new model year is set for production beginning May 26, per Louisville, Kentucky ABC affiliate WHAS-TV.

Chevrolet says the Corvette Academy is available on YouTube, Chevrolet.com, the MyChevy app, and the Chevrolet owner center. Thus, no matter where you are, you can look up anything you need to know about the new C8. We look forward to more videos down the road.
