Original L72 Corvette convertible is about as nice as they come, and also packs an award-winning resume.

There aren’t many things in life finer than a big block-equipped C2 Corvette. Especially when they’re as absolutely stunning as this ’66 convertible we recently spotted for sale in the Corvette Forum Marketplace. Sporting a frame-off restoration, this stunning ‘Vette has also racked up a host of awards in a short period of time. And after taking a very close look at it, we’re not really surprised at all by that fact.

According to the seller, this ’66 has received 2019 and 2015 NCRS National Top Flight awards, a 2016 Bloomington Gold OEM award, 2017 Bloomington Gold Special Collection Display status, 2017 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Triple Diamond award, and 2017 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Concours Gold. That, friends, is a pretty impressive resume. But as spectacular as the car is, it’s also pretty easy to believe.

For starters, this particular ‘vert packs the coveted L72 427/425 hp big block under the hood. Even better, the engine is numbers-matching and original to the car. It’s backed up by the lauded M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission along with a 4.11-geared G81 Positraction rear end for brisk acceleration. Underneath, this car is also optioned with the F41 front and rear suspension, which is always a desirable box to tick.

There are many other excellent factory options present as well. They include the K66 Transistor Ignition, N11 Off-Road Exhaust, N32 Teakwood Wheel, A01 All Tinted Windows, and T01 Goldwall tires. It’s quite nice to look at as well, thanks to the gorgeous Nassau Blue exterior and Bright Blue interior. Overall, this beautiful blue Corvette is most certainly as good as they get. The seller also has a slew of paperwork to include with the sale. Including all of the original dealer goodies and receipts.
