C8 Corvette

It may look like a Hertz Corvette, but striped C8 is actually a rolling tribute to its owner’s favorite NFL team.

As we all well know, it’s only a matter of time before custom C8 Corvettes begin roaming the earth in hordes. Mainly because, well, it has already started. While there aren’t a ton of aftermarket parts available for the new Corvette just yet, that hasn’t stopped people from putting wheels on them. Or wrapping them. And in the case of this black C8 owned by a fellow named Mark Fine, changing things up to pay homage to your favorite sports team. He then showed off the results of his work on his Facebook page.

Fine didn’t need to do much to transform his C8 into a rolling Pittsburgh Steelers tribute, either. Just add a gold stripe down the center, and presto. There is also a Steelers license plate frame and a couple of badges out back, of course. And we’re guessing on game day you could throw some of those window flags on there. But Fine didn’t go too far and stick giant vinyl logos all over it. Or a huge Fathead of Ben Roethlisberger‘s mug on the hood.

The result is rather subtle to anyone who lives outside of the Steel City. Personally, we thought it was the next special project for Hertz. Heck, if you compare this Corvette to the most recent Camaros available at your local car rental office, they look pretty close. Seems like a perfect opportunity for Hertz to jump in and offer up yet another cool option for your next big business trip. Especially since it was only a couple of years ago that you could rent a Hertz Z06 for the company’s 100th anniversary.

If it wasn’t for the license plate frame and badges, you might be forgiven for thinking that Fine is actually a Hertz enthusiast. We’re not really sure if such a thing exists, but who knows? The rental company has offered up some pretty cool cars over the years. We’re guessing that Fine’s affinity for the Steelers is well-known enough that he doesn’t have to explain his choices. But maybe that giant logo or Fathead would help clarify that fact. Just saying.
