We don’t often see big-block engines in the C4, but this track-ready Corvette has 468 cubic inches under the hood.

At CorvetteForum, we like seeing our favorite car utilized on track. We know already that the C8 will be a monster on the road course, and drag racing C7’s and C6’s are boosted beasts. This C4 is a bit different though. Built by CB Ramey, this C4 is a big block all-motor track day and auto-cross build.

YouTube channel AutoXandTrack caught up with Ramey at an Optima Ultimate Street Car event and had to ask about the car. Of the motor, Ramey states, “it’s a 468. It makes really good power for a pump-gas motor. This one is an LS3 block, sleeved… it dynoed at 650 to the wheels.”

Speaking of wheels, you’ll notice the huge wheels and tires. There’s no shortage of width with the CCW wheels on this car. As Ramey states, “they’re 12-1/2 inches front and back.” That’s wide enough to stretch the 305/30-19 Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires.

They did have to do some suspension work in order to make that wide of a tire work. “We had to move everything inboard in order to make the 12’s fit under the stock fenders,” Ramey notes. Within those wheels are an upgraded StopTech caliper and rotor setup, with Bosch motorsports ABS system.

Ramey lets us in on some opinions regarding one obvious go-fast part on the car. He says, “Let me just make this all very clear. I asked [the series] to ban wings. I don’t like wings. I don’t think they look good. I’ve already hit my head on the thing. I don’t like anything about it… But they do work.” His main complaints come from the fact that the Ultimate Street Car series is typically geared towards vintage and classic rides, making a modern wing look far out of place.

Still, Ramey puts the wing to use and then goes out for an auto-x run. During the run, his car control is great and that big block LS3 sounds amazing. At the end of the run though, you can hear an unusual rise in RPMs as he’s exiting the last corner. In the next shot, we find Ramey replacing a broken half shaft. But as it turns out, he might not have needed that repair. He won the event anyway!
