Wondering what you can do right now? Pay a visit to our Corvette Forum forums, of course! It’s all there: a Q&A for Corvette engineer Tadge Juechter, discussions on your favorite ‘Vettes, threads on racing them, and more.
And, of course, the classifieds. Whatever generation of Corvette you’re looking for, there’s a few for sale in the forums. Such is the case with this early C3-era Corvette, a double-red unit worth its weight in gold.
“This [is a] two-owner original Texas car with numbers-matching engine, transmission, rear end, and frame,” said the seller, Nino Dicandia. “It recently completed a full frame-off restoration. This no-hit car retains 98 percent of its original parts. Even the nuts and bolts were sand-blasted and re-plated in Black Oxide. Everything on this car fits like a glove because all Of the parts are original, too, including many of the interior pieces.”
The Corvette boasts a rare Monza Red on red scheme, one of three interior colors one could order with Monza Red back in 1969. The power source is a 427 V8 backed by a four-speed manual. Back in its day, the big block made anywhere from 390 to 430 horsepower. This one likely does make that amount today.
This fine ‘Vette also has a unique feature: its trim tag. According to ed427vette, the tag features a broken “G,” whose crossbar broke just after the start of the C3-era in ’68. The broken letter wouldn’t be fixed until 1970. It also is the source of ruined sales, as buyers believe the sellers changed the tags to justify the price. However, this sale will go as planned, thanks to the forum member.
The seller is asking $55,000 for his $60,000-plus investment, or best offer. He’ll consider trading it for a few C7-era Z06s. That’s certainly a lot of money for this double-red masterpiece.
If it’s too rare for your wallet, though, keep on looking through the classifieds of our Corvette Forum forums. You might just find the right Corvette of your dreams. Stop on by today!
