Corvette Summer Car

Since the first Corvette was introduced in the 1950s, it has been a popular car in Hollywood.

The Chevrolet Corvette is arguably the greatest American performance car ever. Not only is it often one of the most capable performance cars in the U.S. market, but it is also the oldest car nameplate. The first Corvette was introduced back in 1953 and it didn’t take long before movie stars were driving the slick American sports car on and off of the screen. It was a hot car that celebrities wanted to own, but it also made for a great costar in movies.

Based on the classic Chevy sports car’s success on the big screen, we put together a list of our favorite Corvette movie cars. The list is quite diverse and the odds are good that there are a few that you might not have heard of, let alone seen. In most cases, we have included a clip showing the car in question. In some cases, the clips showing the car weren’t appropriate. In other cases, the clips available on YouTube don’t show the vehicle, but these are 10 of our favorite movie Corvettes, listed in chronological order.

Kiss Me Deadly (1955)

We are not sure if it was the first or one of the first movies to feature a Chevrolet Corvette, but Kiss Me Deadly featured a black C1. The movie follows the story of Mike Hammer, a private investigator from Los Angeles who stumbles onto a kidnapping and torture ring. He ends up figuring out who is perpetrating these acts and he saves the day, of course.

The Corvette doesn’t play a prominent role, but as one of the first (if not the first), we have to include it on the list.
