Corvette is well represented at the next Barrett-Jackson event, with C1, C2, C3, C6 and C8 models on hand.

If you go to just about any collector’s car auction, the Chevrolet Corvette is likely to be one of the most popular cars in the field. Although General Motors has built far more examples of other models, the Corvette is essentially sold as a collectable. As a result, owners are more likely to take proper care of them and that leads to more high quality examples on the market. Of course, the overall popularity of the nameplate leads many people to restore them whereas cars that were sold in greater numbers are more likely to be left to rot in a junkyard.

The upcoming Barrett-Jackson 2020 Fall Auction in Scottsdale is a fine example of that fact. The company is still accepting consignments for the event in late October, so the current field of vehicles for sale is smaller than it will be on auction day. However, there are already a bunch of incredible Corvettes listed on the website for the fall Scottsdale auction. Today, we bring you a look at our 10 favorite Corvettes that will be sold to the highest bidder next month.

1956 with Modern Power

The oldest Chevrolet Corvette currently slated for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction is this model from 1956. While this is the eldest car on the roster right now, it is chock full of modern performance bits.

Under the hood is a 6.2-liter LS3 engine from a C6 Corvette, offering 430 horsepower with the help of an automatic transmission and a Dana 44 rear differential. The suspension setup is from a C4 and it has four-wheel disc brakes. This car was built for the 2019 SEMA Show, so it has an array of aftermarket upgrades. It has a Dakota Digital gauge setup, Classic Auto Air air conditioning, Wilwood braking components and a set of Budnik Muroc IV wheels. These wheels have a classic look, but they are much larger than any original Corvette wheel choice from 1956.

The exterior is white with a black canvas convertible top. Inside, there is loads of bright red leather, darker red carpeting and plenty of chrome trim.
