[VIDEO] 9,000 Miles in a C8 Corvette in Under 9 Minutes!

By combining some of the nation’s most beautiful landscapes with stunning driving roads, a C8 Corvette road trip is the experience of a lifetime.

You might say that right now is the best time there has ever been to do a cross country trip. With so much uncertainty in the future and more folks everyday reaching unprecedented new levels of personal boredom/restlessness, maybe the best thing one can do is go for a full reset. What better to do this than finally taking the time to check off a journey that many auto enthusiasts have on their bucket lists: a C8 Corvette road trip.

Well, we have a fellow CorvetteForum member, MDeg aka MDBeyondCars on Instagram, that actually took this idea and did us one extra: recorded the whole trip for us to experience with him! Much respect to MDeg for sharing his story with us, we will be breaking down some details in this post. Now, to the juicy bits. As we learned in his detailed post about his journey back on October 10th, forum member MDeg had ordered his C8 along with many of you about 14 months ago. Unfortunate circumstances we are all aware of prevented him from receiving the car sooner, but he did finally take delivery of a beautiful Sebring Orange C8 the end of the year.

Initially, the thought of a journey out from Ohio to California was just a dream, but after a little bit of stirring and deliberation, you can convince yourself anything is possible. Having only about two weeks or so of free time to work with, the plan began to set in motion.

We are blessed to know that the U.S. without a doubt has some of the most stunning and varied physical landscapes in the world. Combine that with some literally drool-worthy driving roads and well, you have yourself a road trip.

MDeg’s shortlist ended up being nothing less than epic, including, but not limited to locations such as Pikes Peak, CA-1 (Pacific Coast Highway), Yosemite National Park, The Grand Canyon, and the Tail of the Dragon. If that list of places doesn’t get you excited, we aren’t honestly sure what will.

So while 9,000 miles worth of driving might sound like a lot, we are certain that journeys like this finish a lot quicker than you anticipate. Most of the time, you end up wondering where the time went. However, what is also certain is that is an experience of a lifetime. What better car to do it in than a brand new C8.

We couldn’t summarize this whole experience better than the individual that made it a reality so we will leave it to him to explain.

“I challenge each of you to get out and enjoy these cars – they are meant to be driven. You are only cheating yourselves by trying to keep the mileage under a certain number or worrying about every little spec of dust. I also cant stress enough the beauty and wonder of our National Parks. Leaving the country is exciting, but there is so much to see here right in our back yard.”
