Corvette Forum member gives us all the deets on his C7 Corvette Z06 project.
With winter approaching fast, it is a good time to get around to projects. Or at least that is what we tell ourselves every year. When we need a boost of inspiration, we usually find plenty of great ideas and cool cars in our own forums. We recently came across a great thread documenting a build on a C7 Corvette, and it is a stunner.
Corvette Forum member SubZeru has decided to turn his already menacing 2019 Corvette Z06 into a true lap slayer with his track-focused build.
SubZeru is starting out with a stellar car, but wants to modify it for maximum performance in motorsports.
“I have been following this forum and this amazing community on here for a few years and decided to finally post my journey and my build… My name is Christian and I recently purchase my second corvette (2019 Corvette Z06). I plan on building this car in time for Global Time Attack and Gridlife 2021 or 2022 seasons…. I plan on tracking each month and data logging as much as I can and gaining seat time and experience. I plan on building while keeping warranty and then going from there. Thank you all for allowing me to be part of an amazing community and congrats to those who found a similar passion in Corvettes and racing as I have as well.”
His Sebring Orange 2019 C7 Corvette Z06 is a 7-speed manual with the the Z07 performance package, 2LZ. Additionally it has the carbon fiber ground effects kit and roof, ceramic PPF wrap (front to rear), black wheels with red calipers.
So far, his mods include: DSC controller, DSC Tractive RTS shocks, AFE carbon fiber catback exhaust, carbon fiber chassis mount wing, LG G7 sway bars, MGW short throw shifter, ZL1 add-ons (titanium tow hooks front and rear), carbon fiber dash, steering wheel, bezels, blackout LED lights, and custom fender vents.
Next up, he plans on adding BC forged RZ05 Brushed Dark Black wheels 18″, NT01 tires, Signature Domestic raised cowl front carbon fiber hood and front bumper. In addition to that, he will need to have the seats, harness, cage for the track.
When the build is completed, he will be running in Limited class in GTA and Track Modified for Gridlife.
We can’t wait to follow the progress on SubZeru’s build, and thank him for sharing all the info. And give him a follow on YouTube.
When it comes to lap times, we know the C7 Corvette Z06 is already incredibly capable. With these mods, it will be a bulletproof speed machine.
