This fanatically detailed C7 ZR1 may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s clear that it’s the owner’s pride and joy.

It goes without saying that in the long and illustrious history of the Corvette, the C7 ZR1 ranks near the top in terms of special models. Limited to just 2,953 examples, this mega-powerful, 755 horsepower beast served as the literal swan song for the seventh-generation Corvette before an entirely new, mid-engine era was ushered in for 2020. As such, you don’t see a ton of heavily modified C7 ZR1 Corvettes, as these cars are obviously big-time future collectibles. But the owner of this particular example, highlighted in a video from Mike Davenport, aka Chevy Dude, doesn’t care about such things.

Davenport was recently at the Corvette Museum checking out the Spring Corvette Bash when he came across this heavily modified ZR1, which obviously caught his eye for its uniqueness. “This is the most unique ZR1 I have ever seen,” he said. “This guy’s customized it to an extreme.” That starts up front with Lamborghini-style headlights and taillights, which we’ve seen on some other builds, but it gets much crazier from there.

This particular car came from the factory with the ZTK package and its high wing spoiler, along with a contrasting red interior to go along with the screaming yellow exterior. Davenport also points out that the owner did the engine build experience on his car in Bowling Green – one of just 45 customers who got to participate in that. And people can see his handiwork rather easily, thanks to a custom painted engine cover that’s been modified to lift up.

There are Corvette logos of all kinds all over this car, including the aforementioned engine cover and valve covers, along with various places around the engine bay, which is dressed to the nines. There are plenty of Jake logos everywhere, including the hood, along with boatloads of ZR1 badges everywhere you look. Even the seat belts have Corvette flags, Jake, and ZR1 logos on them. Plus, the car is a rather rare convertible with a manual transmission, which makes it extra special.

Is it everyone’s cup of tea? Definitely not. But this C7 ZR1 is one man’s pride and joy, and it’s pretty clear that he’s poured his heart and soul into it. “One of the great things about owning a Corvette is customizing it to what you want to do and it doesn’t matter what other people think,” Davenport says. And who can argue with that logic?
