If you haven’t already, you really should join Corvette Forum and start posting. It’s not all dry tech talk. In fact, some of the more lighthearted, fun threads have the most active discussions.

One of our members, gosneakers, just joined in August of last year, but they’ve already made a name for themselves as a great poster. Recently, they started a thread about the sort of reactions C8 Corvette owners get from other folks when they’re out and about. Read on to see what other sorts of reactions new Corvette owners have reported.

That’s a Corvette?

Oftentimes, folks aren’t even sure what exactly they’re looking at. Another senior member, bluan, states that they’ve heard “What kind of car is this?” and “This doesn’t look like a Chevy car at all!” Those people do have a point – the C8 does have some subtle styling cues carried over from the C7, it looks wholly unique. There’s nothing else in the Chevrolet lineup like it.

One member, the lark, reports that some folks at a gas station wouldn’t believe him until he showed them the emblems on the car. They were shocked to learn that the new Corvettes were mid-engine cars – and we were shocked that there were still people who didn’t know that yet!
