If you’re going to drive excessive speeds on public roads in a C8 Corvette with one hand, don’t post it on social media.
People do stupid things in cars every day – that much we know from our normal daily commutes and weekly cruises. But most of us know that if you’re going to do something stupid on public roads, you probably don’t want to film it and post it on the internet for everyone to see, especially if you’re somewhat famous. Regardless, a rapper named Blueface disregarded all of this logic recently when he recorded himself driving 150 miles-per-hour in his C8 Corvette.
Even better, Blueface posted that video on Instagram, where it was subsequently viewed and shared by many, as first reported by Hip Hop DX. The short clip, which has since been deleted everywhere (for obvious reasons), shows Blueface driving his C8 Corvette rather aggressively around Los Angeles, hitting a top speed of 155 mph at one point.
The footage kicks off with the rapper already running a cool 90 mph before he nails the accelerator and speed begins to accumulate. This act in itself would be pretty stupid, but Blueface also takes the time to remove his non-recording hand from the steering wheel to show off his presumably expensive rings and watch.
Another interesting thing about this video is that the C8 Corvette Blueface is driving has its redline set at 4,500 rpm, which likely means that it hasn’t passed the 500-mile break-in mark yet. Thus, performance is a bit limited, which in this case is a good thing.
Unfortunately for those living in and around Los Angeles, this isn’t the first time Blueface has driven recklessly. Back in July, he wrecked his Porsche Panamera, and even posted a picture of the carnage on Instagram with the caption “another one.” Which, we presume, means that he’s wrecked at least one other car in his lifetime.

Aside from the potential legal ramifications of such a stunt, things could have gone much worse. Back in July, singer Rod Wave smashed into a light pole at high speed while driving his brand new C8 Corvette, and suffered internal bleeding as a result. Things should have been much worse considering how bad the car looked. Thankfully, the C8 is a rather safe car, as we’ve seen recently. But that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to speed excessively, hands off the wheel, while filming the whole thing for the ‘gram.
