C8 Corvette ProCharger Supercharger System

ProCharger shows off its new C8 Corvette supercharger system ahead of its release, which is coming very soon.

Way back in April, we reported that ProCharger was working on a new supercharger kit for the C8 Corvette. This came as no surprise, of course, because soon every turbo and blower manufacturer on the planet will follow suit as owners seek to boost their rides. But now, it appears that ProCharger is getting very close to putting the final stamp on its C8 supercharger kit, as it has posted an enticing teaser video to whet our appetites.

ProCharger touts their new setup as the “world’s first bolt-on supercharger system for the C8 Corvette platform,” and it might just be the first to market, too. The company didn’t reveal too many details in the process, but there are a few important takeaways from this teaser that are worth mentioning. For starters, the blower maker says that its new kit will “boost” the C8’s stock 6.2-liter LT2 V8 from 495 horsepower to over 700 once installed.

Even better, the kit is a straight up bolt-on job with no major modifications required. This is especially notable given the lack of space under the C8’s hood, which has led to some creative custom twin-turbo installations thus far. The setup will also run on pump gas, and it even comes with an intercooler. The system has been in development since fall of 2019, so we’re not really surprised by that.

What we don’t know is if ProCharger has managed to crack the C8’s bank vault-like ECU or not. Many are currently trying to do this, but so far, no one has succeeded. The handful of twin-turbo C8s out there are cresting the 600-700 horsepower mark without a tune, so it’s possible that the supercharger system will do the same. Since the LT2’s internals need upgrading after they reach this point, that might be a good power target anyway.

What we do know for sure is that the blown Corvette sounds awesome in this short video. From the startup to the revs, the C8 whines and whistles loudly, like a properly supercharged vehicle should. And with all of that extra horsepower, it doesn’t have a problem turning tire tread into smoke, either.
