Poor Wrecked C8 Corvette Provides Great Opportunity for Project Seekers
Whether you need an entire LT2 or a body shell for your next project, this wrecked C8 bears lots of fruit.
It wasn’t long after the C8 Corvette launched that we saw our first wrecked example, and many more have followed. This isn’t a surprise, of course, as anytime an automaker builds a fast car, someone will inevitably crash it. But while most of those wrecked C8 Corvettes were sold whole and rebuilt or had their drivetrains harvested, AZ Cycle Parts in Phoenix, Arizona has parted this 2LT Z51 out and is selling all the bits and pieces on eBay.
Needless to say, this wrecked C8 and its plethora of parts provide a great opportunity for those looking for a cool project. Aside from the front end, which is gone as the likely result of a front-end collision, everything else is here – the radio, wiring harnesses, fuel tanks, HVAC, grilles, emblems, heads up display, magnetic ride shocks, wheels, and tires, you name it.
But perhaps the most intriguing piece in the pile is the Corvette’s unibody, which is selling for a mere $7,000. This has project car written all over it, though it would obviously take a lot of work to graft onto something that would actually work. Regardless, how cool would it be to see this shell rolling again with custom bits?
The most intriguing thing for sale here is, of course, the car’s LT2 V8. With just 4,000 miles on the clock, it’s certainly a cool powerplant for a potential swap, though the $20k asking price is significant. Regardless, anyone who purchases said powerplant and puts it in something old is going to attract a lot of attention because, well, it’s so new that you’re bound to be the only guy at the car show with one.
Of course, there is another upside to this part out – locating C8 parts in general at the moment is a bit tough for a number of reasons. For one, this car is so new you can’t exactly go to the local junkyard and pick out what you need. Two, we’re in the middle of a global supply chain nightmare. Thus, if you need some parts for your C8 or are just looking for something cool to turn into a project, this looks like a great place to start.
