Cunningham Automotive has introduced a limited edition C8 Corvette model, which is powered by a Lingenfelter-tuned motor.

The 2021 C8 Corvette offers great value and has proven itself to be a supercar of the people. If you are in the market for something more special, then Cunningham Automotive’s recent offering might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Lewisville- based company introduced a limited edition C8 Corvette, which was built in collaboration with prolific tuner Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.

The car is called 60th Anniversary Cunningham C8 Corvette, and the company will only produce 60 examples of this ultra-exclusive celebration model. The order banks for the Cunningham C8s are currently open, and customers can place their reservations by paying a $5,000 booking fee. At $159,995, the Cunningham C8 is almost $100,000 more expensive than the entry-level 2021 Corvette Stingray. The Cunningham C8 happens to be the first Corvette-based model that the company has introduced in the last 60 years.

The 60th Anniversary Cunningham C8 is also a tribute model, and its styling commemorates the #3 Cunningham Corvette that competed in the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans back in 1960. The #3 car finished 8th overall but managed to win its class, which Cunningham reckons established Corvette as a “true sports car” on an international level. The car sports Cunningham’s signature livery and has a pair of blue racing stripes running down the middle of the white sports car.

Cunningham Automotive claims that the LT2 powerplant of its Lingenfelter-tuned C8 Corvette can produce over 600 HP of power, which is an impressive improvement over the standard Stingray’s 495 HP. In addition to Lingenfelter-tuned Performance Design Carbon Fiber Intake Manifold, and Corsa Performance Headers, the car also gets a performance exhaust system, a heavy-duty cooling system, and a high-flow air intake. Cunningham enlisted the services of Peter Stevens Design for the aero components.

The car now rides on a set of forged aluminum HRE rims that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber. The wheels were made to emulate the design of the Halibrand Kidney Bean wheels of the 1960 Le Mans racer. The attention to detail throughout the rest of the ensemble is equally impressive.
