Spending its life in Pennsylvania, 2019 Grand Sport covered 1,400 miles on its big V8, features bold red seats to go with cool blue exterior.
Some time in the C8 Era of the Corvette, there will be a new ZR1. In 2023, we’ll have a Z06. There may even be a Zora to close out the era. What there won’t be is a Grand Sport. Instead, there will be a hybrid dubbed the E-Ray. The new ‘Vette is expected to have a pair of electric motors up front to contribute their share of power to the 6.2-liter LT2 V8.
Yet, the Grand Sport name will be missed. This means, of course, the last Grand Sport to date left Bowling Green near the end of the C7 Era in 2019. One such example from the period is now available to a new home on Bring a Trailer.
Since purchase at a Pennsylvania dealership in 2019, the Grand Sport logged only 1,400 miles upon its 6.2-liter LT1. It also lived in the Keystone State the entire time, now residing in another Pennsylvania dealership. Thus, it’s only broken-in, ready to let freedom ring in Elkhart Lake Blue and tire smoke.
We wonder if the 460 horses and their combined 465 lb-ft of torque got a real chance to run. Perhaps some of those miles to pass through the eight-speed automatic were visits to some of Pennsylvania’s fine attractions. Maybe the Grand Sport turned up at Corvettes at Carlisle. No matter what, though, the ‘Vette’s only just begun to thunder down the highway.
If you’re gonna rock a bold color on the outside, make sure to match it on the inside, too. That’s what the former owner of the Grand Sport did, choosing Adrenaline Red seating with matching dash and center console to make everything pop within. If only the whole interior could be as red.
With no Grand Sport to come in the C8 Era, this low-mileage gem may be one of the last to bear the famous name. If so, then should this remain in showroom-like condition? Or should it proudly let that LT1 roar through the valley? Decisions, decisions.
