Eagle Eyed Cherry: 1976 Corvette Holds Several Surprises

Custom graphics and a big boost of horsepower makes this 1976 ‘Vette very spirited. 

At first glance this is a very nice, very clean 1976 C3 Corvette. But when you take a closer look, you might find a few things that really stand out. First and foremost it dons ZZ4 badging, which means that it is packing a ZZ4 performance package. But there is even more than the high-revving, high-performance ZZ4 crate 350 that makes this 1976 Corvette pretty remarkable.

Upon closer inspection, the car manages to celebrate its birth year–the year of the United States Bicentennial–with custom star-spangled graphics.

Oh yeah, that noble eagle keeps watch over the fully restored Corvette; which is appropriately named “Let Freedom Reign.” And it is an all-American tribute to the U S of A. Although, we need to point out that the graphics are all removeable, should you prefer the clean yellow with black.

Are custom graphics for everyone? Oh, absolutely not. But we have to give credit here, this work was executed very beautifully and with remarkable detail. And it doesn’t get more 1970s than a Corvette with custom design work emblazoned on front and back.

In addition to a lotta’ ‘Merica, the American sports car has undergone a full body-off restoration. The current owner is selling his ride on Top Classic Cars added that he has “no regrets” and that this “‘Vette is literally epic in terms of a complete restoration which is 100% complete.”

Performance was considered in every aspect of the restoration. Paired to a Muncie 4-speed manual, the new crate ZZ4 350 makes 380 horses. Adding Magnaflow 44 mufflers gives it a nice, throaty exhaust note.

“It all works together to create what a Corvette is all about,” the owner says. “Pure driving fun.”

It also includes removeable split tops, power brakes, mag wheels, B.F. Goodrich tires, 4 wheel disc brakes, CD Player, leather seats, air-conditioning, and has been rust proofed.

Clean as a whistle and offering some high gains, it really is a remarkable C3 Corvette.

It is clear that this owner loves Corvettes, and made this beauty pumps pure red, white, and blue. Okay, the aesthetics and wraps might not be for everyone. But we can definitely agree that utilizing the ZZ4 is a masterful way to boost the specs of a C3 without compromise. Most important of all is how the GM crate delivers a completely satisfying, but unmistakably Corvette performance.
