Droning and Roaring in the Mountains: C8 Corvette Convertible Review REDUX
A C8 Corvette driving in the mountains… No opinions. No specs. No music. Just raw footage and audio clips of the LT2 V8.
CorvetteForum recently had the great fortune to borrow a 2020 C8 Corvette Convertible from General Motors. Said loan lasted just over one GLORIOUS week, after which we put together a few different reviews and a slideshow. Over in the forums, one of our members wondered if the review music was hiding too much of the LT2’s engine note. This comment sparked an idea so, with a little time off over the holidays, we went back to Final Cut Pro and stripped our review down to the basics.
No opinions. No specs. No music.
Just extended cuts of various drone footage and b-roll combined with original sound recordings we made of the LT2 snarling out of the OEM active valve performance exhaust system. For the record, we have no idea if anyone actually wants to watch such a video or cares, but thought it was worth a quick experiment. The C8 Corvette — in coupe or convertible form — is a glorious driver’s car. Elegantly designed. Remarkably quick. Extremely comfortable. Immensely popular.
In short, we adore it and think, in a very small way, this video captures part of the essence of the driving experience.
As we said in the full review, the C8 Corvette isn’t just a new car, it’s a cultural phenomenon. We hope you enjoy this little bonus video and head over HERE to our forum to let us know if you’d like more of these in the future. Cheers.
