The film opens with an older gentleman walking up to his C2 convertible in his darkened garage. As he opens the garage door the light spills over the lines of the classic car. Your heart already starts to beat a bit faster. The headlights are turned on and slowly spin up into position. The weathered gentleman takes in the curves of the car and grabs the steering wheel with his hands covered in leather driving gloves. He then twists the key and fires up the 396 Turbo-Jet V8 engine. You can almost smell the gasoline. He fettles under the hood for a moment and gives the car one more wipe down before climbing back in. You get the sense that this man bought this car new back in 1965 and has been driving it and caring for it ever since.

C8

On the other side of town is a young woman climbing into her new C8. Her routine is much simpler. She hops in the car and pushes the start button. Her foot is pressed to the floor to hear the engine rev. She heads out onto a desolate desert road heading right toward the older gentleman in his C2. Young and old. Classic and new. Manual transmission and paddle shift automatic. The drivers and the cars might have been born decades apart, but the passion is the same. They both yearn to take their Corvette for the drive it deserves. No matter the specification of the car we all share the common Corvette bond.
