It’s always nice to see money raised for a worthy cause, but this C8 Corvette raffle winner also certainly deserves it.

To us, there’s no better raffle prize than a C8 Corvette. Mainly because in addition to the incredible demand this mid-engine marvel is enjoying, a year after its release, it just plain looks good enough to attract even folks who might not otherwise consider owning one. But this particular C8 Corvette raffle, which just took place in Naperville, Illinois, is special not only for the cause it benefitted but also for the man that won the car – John Donarski.

Donarski is a life-long Bow Tie fanatic who currently owns another Corvette that he purchased used five years ago. He’s also never owned a brand new car in his life, interestingly enough. But when Donarski had his car in for service at Chevrolet of Naperville recently, he spotted this very Torch Red 2020 Corvette and immediately fell in love. At the time, he thought to himself – “my god this is the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen. I will own this car one day,” he told Positively Naperville.

Thus, Donarski decided to enter the C8 Corvette raffle. He initially decided to buy three tickets but wound up buying five. He figured what the heck, the money was going to a good cause – the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation – which was planning on using the money it raised to help equip classrooms to better serve students with autism.

Turning Pointe wound up raising a whopping $160,000 from the C8 Corvette raffle, and when the dust settled, Donarski’s dream had come true. Needless to say, the die-hard Chevy fan was more than a little thrilled. “This is surreal! I am overwhelmed with the whole event and it has been the best experience,” he told Positively Naperville.

Even better, Donarski knows first hand just how important Turning Pointe’s mission is. He worked with someone who has autism in the past and noted that Turning Pointe’s facilities were sorely needed back then. “At that time, there was not this type of caliber of places offering services back then,” he said. The organization certainly needs the help, as it currently has a waitlist and is one of the only such schools to be open for in-person instruction during the pandemic.

The most important thing here is that Turning Pointe was able to raise a considerable sum of money for its very worthy cause, but at the same time, it’s always nice to see such a sweet raffle prize go to a such deserving person.
