Amazing 1967 Corvette L71 quite simply has it all, including the right engine, but does that make it the perfect car?

Everyone has their own opinion about what the greatest car ever made might be, but in the Corvette world, the L71-powered 1967 model is often named as the best of the best. And while we’re not ready to make that bold declaration, we will point to exhibit A – this beautiful 1967 Corvette L71 convertible up for grabs at Bring a Trailer, which has pretty much everything a Corvette fan could want from a car.

For starters, this gorgeous C2 is finished in triple black, with the dark hue adorning the exterior, soft top, and interior. The red stinger hood adds a bit of contrast, while the requisite side pipes bellow out the deep tones of the car’s legendary powerplant, and are framed by a set of 15-inch turbine wheels with Chevy center caps and Firestone redline tires.

Those amazing looks are complemented by an amazing powerplant – GM’s Tri-Power L71 427 cubic-inch big block, which was factory rated to produce 435 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, though a dyno might indicate that these figures are a bit underrated. Regardless, that juice flows to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and Positraction rear end. In this case, the powertrain is reportedly original to the car, as we can see from photos of its stampings.

The previous owner of this amazing C2 put it through an extensive body-off refurbishment prior to parting ways with it, which was good enough to earn it a Bloomington Gold Award back in 2006. Today, it remains in stunning condition with seemingly perfect paint, a tidy interior, a clean engine bay, and a nicely detailed undercarriage that looks like it’s never seen a puddle, let alone a full-blown rainstorm.

Add it all up, and one could certainly make the case for this being the quintessential version of GM’s iconic sports car. The C2 is easily one of the most beautiful automotive designs ever created, and when we combine that with a perfect color combo and a legendary powerplant, Corvettes simply don’t get much better than this.
