60th Anniversary ZR1 Hits Auction with Only SIX Documented Miles!!!

A month after last “factory fresh” C6 ZR1 fails to meet reserve on Bring a Trailer, another mint C6 ZR1 hits the block with six miles on it.

We get that some Corvettes will hardly ever see the road. Think examples like the very first C8, now part of Rick Hendrick’s personal collection. Or, perhaps the last 2020 C8, which found a new home at Mecum Orlando 2021. Not to mention all of the rare ‘Vettes to have ever been made since 1953, starting with the first 300.

We wonder, though, if holding onto those Corvettes in the hopes of making bank outweigh enjoying the ‘Vette overall. For example, this 60th Anniversary 2013 ZR1 available on Bring a Trailer as of this post. Will it find a new home, or will it be the next ZR1 to fail to meet reserve.

“This car was purchased originally by a collector that has 50 cars in his collection,” said the seller. “It is the same owner we purchased a very low-mileage 1995 Viper [from] a few months back. These cars have not been driven other than the minimal delivery miles, and have all been stored in a climate-controlled heated and air-conditioned environment. They were driven onto our trucks, but not driven otherwise. The ZL1 collection involved a new 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and this 2013 Anniversary Edition. All we be marketed soon on BAT. The cars are available for viewing in our East Lansing, Michigan facility.”

The seller isn’t kidding, either. When purchased new in 2013 in Illinois, the LS9 only moved the ZR1 six miles in total. Since then, the Arctic White beauty, the 159th model built for the model year, sat in the collection with all of its plastic still protecting the seats and steering wheel.

Back when it was purchased, its sticker price was $127,050. In today’s money, that’s $148,890.27. As of this post, the ZR1 sits at $100,000. That’s $3,000 short of the last low-mileage ZR1 we reported on back in July. That one only logged 16 miles on the LS9. It also failed to meet the seller’s reserve. We expect this ZR1’s price to move past the previous ZR1 over the remaining days. Whether it sells or not, though, depends on the reserve.

That said, the aforementioned Viper did go to a new home for $78,000 in April. Perhaps the reserve on this ‘Vette’s already been met.
