2021 Corvette Updates Outlined In Informative New Video

Rick Conti goes over all the new features of the 2021 Corvette, including unpublished ones we haven’t seen.

The C8 Corvette was a brand new, ground-up recreation of America’s favorite sports car that just debuted for the 2020 model year. Thus, we weren’t expecting a lot of changes for the 2021 Corvette, though there are a few worth noting. We’ve discussed many of these at length already, but a new video from YouTuber Rick Conti goes into extreme detail regarding these new features, including some changes that haven’t really been advertised.

Conti kicks things off by discussing the new stripe color options and Jake racing stripe, as well as the two new colors available for the 2021 Corvette – Silver Flare Metallic and Red Mist Metallic. But then, Conti moves on to the inside of the new car to discuss some of the unpublished changes that have taken place in the C8’s cabin for the new model year.

The first new feature pertains to the buckle to drive system. “If you do not have your seat belt buckled, it will remind you and you will not be able to put it in gear for 20 seconds,” Conti says. Next up, we have the Z Mode button, which does things a bit differently for 2021. “When you first hit it, you get its own screen for the Z Mode,” Conti says. “But look at the message on the right-hand side – Z Mode is active. If you hit it again, you’ll go right to PTM.”

Next up, under the settings menu and vehicle tab, there is a drive mode customization that is new for 2021. There, owners can easily make changes to driving modes including the steering, suspension, and brake feel, as well as various other tweaks. There’s also a new visualization button in that same menu that allows you to see those screens in Z Mode and My Mode when it’s turned on.

Other new features present in the 2021 Corvette include wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility, a new HD Radio button, a new browse button layout in the media section, and new graphics and menus in Sirius XM.

None of these features or changes are exactly earth-shattering, but they’re welcome nonetheless. And we imagine that GM will continue to tweak its shiny new C8 Corvette in a similar fashion in the coming model years (save for the introduction of new models), too.
