2021 C8 VIN 003 Sold to Corvette Fanatic & Popular YouTuber

YouTuber StreetSpeed717 offers a quick look at his brand new C8 Convertible, aka 2021 Corvette VIN 003.

Last week, we met Brian Bowling, the proud owner of 2021 Corvette VIN 001, as he took delivery of the Torch Red coupe at the National Corvette Museum. Funny enough, Bowling initially thought he was purchasing VIN 003 before GM bumped him to number one. Today, we know that Mike Holt aka YouTuber Street Speed 717 has taken delivery of VIN 003. Holt’s C8 is an Accelerate Yellow 3LT Z51 hardtop convertible and, given his public profile, we should be seeing a lot of VIN 003 in the upcoming months. He spend $97,000 on the car and immediate plans include wheels and an exhaust.

For those who don’t follow Holt’s channel, he featured several Corvettes over the years… Multiple C7 Z06s, a C6 Corvette and C6 ZR1, a C7 Grand Sport, and two 2019 C7 ZR1s. Holt was also fortunate enough to snag his dream car, a 1963 Corvette Stingray, as well a 2020 C8 Corvette that he wrapped in Rapid Blue. Late Model Racecraft built Holt’s C8 into a twin-turbo monster capable of making 1,000 horsepower, but alas, we’re still waiting on someone to crack the ECU to fully explore the C8’s aftermarket potential.

Holt recently sold his 2020 C8 coupe, but regretted the decision. “I missed having a Corvette in the fleet. I know we got the old one, but I, you know you don’t drive that all the time. Just having a new Corvette, the C8 is an incredible car, great platform, and it’s freaking awesome to drive and because my 2019 (ZR1) is still not here, I need a new ‘Vette in my life.”

The YouTuber also disclosed that it was the hardtop feature that persuaded him to buy the C8 Convertible over the Huracan, which comes with a soft-top roof. Holt even drew a comparison between his C8 ‘Vette and the Lamborghini Aventador, claiming that the C8 offers more modern amenities than the raging Bull supercar. This probably means Holt’s new ride might soon receive a Late Model Racecraft treatment, and we can wait to see what the final result is going to look like.
