Supercharged C6 Z06 Serves up 700 HP With C6.R Looks for the Street
This supercharged C6 Z06 looks a lot like the C6.R thanks to a custom wrap, but it also has the power to back up those looks.
Most are already well aware of the fact that the C6 Corvette is a fantastic performance value these days. It’s easy to pick up a nice example on the cheap and then either drive and enjoy it or modify it in a wide variety of ways, from mild to wild. This supercharged C6 Z06 up for grabs at Cars & Bids certainly leans toward the latter end of that spectrum, thanks to its race car looks and prodigious amount of power, all of which makes it a highly intriguing offering.
For starters, this supercharged C6 Z06 has been dressed up in a wrap designed to mimic the look of the C6R racer of this era, which completely changes the appearance of the car. Other exterior upgrades include an aftermarket front slip spoiler and side skirts, Morimoto headlights, taillights, and fog lights, and an APR Performance GTC-500 adjustable rear wing.
The seller could have just stopped there and had a cool ride, as this gen Z06’s LS7 produced a healthy 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque when new. However, they chose to give it the juice to match those race car looks by adding a bevy of performance parts including a Race Proven Motorsports camshaft, American Heritage Performance milled LS7 cylinder heads, a Snow Performance water-methanol kit with dual nozzle sprayers, and the proverbial cherry on top – a ProCharger D-1x supercharger.
That’s good enough to send a healthy 699 horsepower and 641 pound-feet of torque to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission with a McLeod Racing RXT 1200 clutch, which should make this C6 Z06 rather fun to drive. As one might imagine, the suspension has been upgraded somewhat as well to help put that power to the ground more effectively, with Revalved front dampers, Bilstein rear dampers, and 19-inch Forgestar CF10 wheels rounding out the changes underneath.
The interior is mostly stock, but has been treated to a carbon fiber-look wrap on the steering wheel trim to dress it up a bit, as well as auxiliary gauges on driver-side A-pillar to help keep tabs on what’s going on under the hood. Put it all together, and this C6 Z06 is a pretty cool build that truly stands out from the pack thanks to its unique race-inspired exterior treatment, but it also has the guts to back up those looks, too.
