Duntov Motor Company built this beautiful ‘63 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe, along with 16 others, back in 2015.
The used car market is kind of on a fritz right now. With prices of pre-owned cars skyrocketing, portals like Facebook have become the go-to destination for buyers looking for a good deal. Recently a beautiful 1963 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe was listed for sale on the Facebook group Exotic Cars For Sale By Owner. This particular example is not an aftermarket clone but a continuation car that was built as per the original GM blueprints.
The listing was created by Facebook user Clint Matthews, who describes the ‘63 Grand Sport Coupe as a “one of a kind custom build”. Dallas, Texas-based Duntov Motor Company LLC is responsible for this creation. The sports car was built back in 2015 and it is also one of only 17 examples. The company was also the mastermind behind the original Corvette Grand Sport. In addition to starring in an MTV music video, this Grand Sport Coupe was also featured in the Vette Magazine, which covered the entire build.
Under the hood, we find a 427 small block Chevrolet V8, which produces 700 HP of maximum power.
Furthermore, the car was also featured in the book 50 Years of Corvette Grand Sport by Alan Sevadjian. With only 3000 miles on the odometer, this Corvette is in immaculate shape and can be yours for just $199,995. Interestingly enough, this rare sports car is also a great deal even with its exorbitant price tag. Back in 2018, Canadian Appraisal Services Ltd. estimated the value of this custom Corvette at $200,000. McCabe Motorsports custom-built the motor, which gets a Holley Q-series Black Diamond carburetor.
The sports car also gets a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels. Every continuation car comes with a Certificate of Origin, which includes GM licensing. The car also gets a continuation VIN, and this example is model #0021. The sports car’s bodywork flaunts a rich bronze metallic paint job, which is offset by a black stripe. This ‘63 grand sport coupe gets a clamshell construction. The car’s one-piece outer body is mated to a one-piece inner body. Most of the surfaces inside the cabin are covered in plush light brown leather.
