LS3-Powered 1967 Corvette

A five-year restoration transformed this C2 from a solid driver into an LS3-powered 1967 Corvette pro touring restomod beauty.

Ah once again the folks at Bring a Trailer are determined to separate us from large sums of money. If you are looking for the best deals on special cars BaT is not the first place you look. However, if you are looking for an incredible new ride it is tough to beat the selection of vehicles that BaT has on offer. The latest temptation is this LS3-Powered 1967 Corvette restomod. Some people will say that no C2 Corvette really needs any improvement. But that is why they make more than one flavor of ice cream. For those that like to go beyond vanilla this pro touring build Corvette might be exactly what you crave.

C2 restomod

Chopping up a 1967 Corvette takes some guts. And some talent. But this build was not thrown together in a weekend in a shed with parts from Pep Boys. This was a professional build that took five years to complete. The BaT listing includes some photos of the build process that shows the transformation. And in addition to the regular listing description FinestVehiclesTraded who is the seller of this car describes in detail in the comments all that went into making this special LS3-Powered 1967 Corvette. Get ready to place your bid as we take a look at some of the highlights.

525 Horsepower

LS3

The team at Street Shop Inc. in Athens, Alabama installed a lovely Chevrolet Performance LS376/525 small block under the hood. This unit is rated at 525 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque. More than enough to hang with modern sports cars. This is connected to a Tremec TKO600 5-speed transmission. But there is more eye candy to be found. An AVS Motorsports AVS Speedcover kit made from billet aluminum dress up the valve covers, intake cover and more. The sharp look continues with braided fuel lines and a polished expansion tank. This is one heck of an engine bay.

How Does it Handle?

LS3-Powered 1967 Corvette

We have not driven it, but it sure has all the bits you would expect of a well sorted sports car. It rides on a fully independent C6 generation Corvette suspension that includes adjustable QA-1 coilovers. Stopping duties are handled by a set of Brembo calipers and rotors from a C6 Vette. A Wilwood master cylinder takes care of brake fluid duties. A set of custom CCW wheels are painted black and wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport rubber.

Inside

Interior

Slide into the interior and it looks like you would expect a 1967 Corvette to look. There is an upgraded AM/FM radio and a Vintage Air A/C system but other than that the interior is nearly stock. Of course, it looks showroom new. The odometer reads less than 1,000 miles. The actual milage is unknown, but it is clear that the car has not seen much road since the build was completed.

Other Highlights

LS3-powered 1967 Corvette

Well, it would be hard to miss the Sunfire Yellow paint that coats the outside of this beauty. It helped this car take home an NCRS Blue Ribbon Concours Stock Division award. This is a stunning build and it will make the new owner very happy. The auction ends on April 4 at 5:58 PM Eastern. Bidding as of this writing is already right around the six-figure mark. It will not be cheap, but cars like this don’t come around often. Happy bidding!
