The National Corvette Museum is changing things up with a cool new exhibit for both kids and adults who are kids at heart.

The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky has become somewhat of a destination for fans of America’s original sports car over the years, one that’s chock full of cool, ever-changing exhibits. The museum’s floor is set to change once again this summer, as a brand new exhibit dubbed Hot Wheels: Race to Win is set to run from May 27 through September 25, giving both young and older fans of Corvettes and die-cast cars a unique experience worth checking out in the flesh.

“Generations of children have enjoyed the thrill and speed of racing with Hot Wheels, and this new interactive exhibit now brings families together to learn what brings racing to life in a fun and memorable way,” said Julie Freeland, Senior Director, Global Live Events & Attractions, Mattel.

Since it was introduced by Mattel in 1968, over 800 models and 11,000 variations of Hot Wheels cars have been created with more than 4 billion sold across the globe. Hot Wheels: Race to Win celebrates those lofty numbers by giving visitors to the National Corvette Museum a chance to be part of a race team working together to build and test the fastest and safest machines on the planet using Hot Wheels die-cast cars to experiment and play.

Created by The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis in partnership with Mattel, this new exhibit aims to teach young children the science behind what it takes to create fast cars, and also includes a Pit Stop Challenge that lets visitors compete against each other while changing tires and adding fuel, as well as a 6-lane downhill speed track, booster power track, adjustable angles track, timing track, and memorabilia from the Corvette Museum itself.

“This family learning experience provides hands-on opportunities for parents to explain complex physics concepts in fun ways utilizing the popular Hot Wheels toy cars as they experiment with different principles to see which makes a car go fastest,” said Jennifer Pace Robinson, president and CEO of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

“We are eager to showcase the Hot Wheels: Race to Win exhibition at the National Corvette Museum for Hot Wheels fans of all ages to experience the history of America’s sports car in an educational and interactive space,” said Sharon Brawner, National Corvette Museum President and CEO. “The Corvette’s long-standing representation within Hot Wheels is one that carries across generations and we can’t wait to see the appreciation for both brands at our museum. This Limited Engagement Gallery Exhibition will be a place where everyone feels like a kid.”
