Man Speeding in C7 Corvette Crashes Splits Car in HALF!
This C7 Corvette gets sliced in half like a hot knife through butter after its driver was speeding down a public road.
We’ve seen our fair share of crazy wrecks over the years, including quite a few involving the new mid-engine C8 Corvette. But this particular wreck – which happened in Roseville, California, recently – actually involved a Laguna Blue C7 Corvette, though it’s somewhat hard to tell by looking at the photos and video of the aftermath posted by the Public Safety News Network. In fact, the sheer force of its impact essentially cut the car in half, separating the front end from the rest of the C7 Corvette like a hot knife through butter.
The Corvette was reportedly traveling down Foothills Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Police were apparently made aware of this transgression but were unable to pull the car over before it crashed. There are precious few details regarding what happened, exactly, but the aftermath shows us some pretty gnarly destruction. It seems as if the driver simply lost control while driving too fast, as is often the case, and his poor Corvette was the lone victim here.
The mind-boggling scene is quite a lot to process, with the rear half of the car sitting in the road while the entire front end is resting a little ways away in some shrubs. Of course, the front end is designed to detach like this, all in the name of keeping the part of the car that contains people safe and intact. Regardless, it’s still pretty incredible to see something like this happen, because it doesn’t happen very often.
The good news here is that incredibly, neither the driver of this Corvette nor anyone else nearby was injured. In fact, the driver managed to walk away unscathed, which is pretty amazing, and a testament to how safe modern vehicles are. Hopefully, he at least learned his lesson about speeding on public roads, though it’s unfortunate that the C7 had to bear the brunt of his mental error.
