This tastefully-done 1970 Corvette restomod features the best combination of parts to make an enticing offering.

The world of restomod Corvettes is an enticing one that has won over plenty of enthusiasts for a pretty wide variety of reasons. The Corvette’s classic lines are a bit part of that phenomenon, as they lend themselves well to a set of modern wheels and fancy paint colors. Throw in modern mechanicals and a comfy, amenity-filled interior, and you’ve got the makings of something that most of us would love to tool around in at our leisure. And in that regard, they don’t get much cooler than this 1970 Corvette up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.

This metallic red beauty of a 1970 Corvette otherwise retains most of its originality on the outside, with those famous chrome bumpers shining like new. However, there are also some pretty obvious signs that this C3 isn’t just your average, run of the mill Corvette of this vintage, too. The biggest of which is its set of 17-inch BC Forged RS40 wheels, which have been wrapped with 255/45 Nitto NT555 G2 tires for extra grip.

Peek underneath, and you’ll find a host of upgraded parts including power rack and pinion steering, QA1 front coilovers, and four-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors and black calipers. The same goes for what lies under the hood – GM’s 6.0-liter LS2 V8, which in this case has been fitted with an Edelbrock supercharger and heat exchanger, a titanium air intake, a GTO engine harness, American Racing long-tube headers, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.

Breathing through a 2.5-inch exhaust, the modern LS powerplant sends power to the rear wheels via a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission that’s been fitted with a Spec clutch and aluminum flywheel. Peek inside the cabin, and you’ll find more of the same – a nice blend of classic and modern with upgrades including black leather and suede Corbeau A4 bucket seats, Classic Air climate control, a Hurst shifter, a retro stereo, and Dakota Digital gauges.

Altogether, this 1970 Corvette restomod is certainly well-done and tasteful in every way, making it appealing to anyone that enjoys the way these cars look but wants a more modern driving experience. To us, at least, that’s a pretty desirable combination.
