GM President Mark Reuss wrings out the C8 Corvette Z06 on the track, and it’s truly sensational, aurally speaking.

By now, pretty much everyone knows that the C8 Corvette Z06 sounds absolutely amazing. After all, there have been plenty of video clips floating around proving that fact, so what’s one more? Well, mega-popular YouTuber Emelia Hartford recently got the exclusive chance to take a ride in a new C8 Corvette Z06 with GM President Mark Reuss behind the wheel as he worked the sports car around a very hot lap, and as one might imagine, it sounds absolutely incredible doing so.

GM brought a Z06 with the Z07 package along to the Indy 500 last weekend, which is no big surprise given the fact that it was the official pace car of the iconic race. After checking out the interior of the car, Hartford notes that she has changed her mind and plans to turbocharge her own personal C8 Corvette Z06 when it arrives, though we’d leave the car’s glorious LT6 powerplant alone, at least for a little while. After all, why mess with perfection?

This is no surprise given the fact that Hartford already owns one of the most heavily modified and quickest twin-turbo C8 Corvettes on the planet, so she spends a little bit of time poking around the engine bay to figure out how she’s going to plum a pair of buffers into the Z06’s new powerplant. But then it’s time for the meat and potatoes of this video – the hot lap.

Reuss, as one might imagine, proves to be a pretty darn good driver and extracts a pretty impressive hot lap out of the new Z06, but perhaps the most impressive thing about this jaunt is the intoxicating sounds the car makes as it whips around the track. For many, this will undoubtedly be the biggest selling point of the newest Z car, a machine that seems designated to go down as one of the great naturally-aspirated sports cars in history.
