A dozen Corvette concepts and host of events will make for one special 40th annual Lime Rock Park Historic Festival.

Each year, the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival celebrates the automobile with a host of vintage displays and historic racing with thousands of cars and motorcycles on hand for the masses to soak in. For 2022, the long-running event is celebrating its 40th year, but since we’re also approaching the Corvette’s 70th anniversary, Lime Rock Park Historic Festival organizers wanted to get a head start on that milestone as well. As a result, those folks have something very special up their sleeves for this year’s gathering.

The Corvette will serve as the featured marquee at the upcoming Lime Rock Park Historic Festival, which takes place over a long Labor Day weekend – September 1-5 – in Salisbury, Connecticut. A total of 12 historically significant Corvettes will be on hand for the celebration, including the 1959 Stingray Concept, which has been graciously loaned out by the General Motors Heritage Center.

Additionally, the 2022 Lime Rock Park Historic Festival will be celebrating seven decades of design evolution and motorsports competition in a variety of ways, including invitation-only dinners, special guests, and more. It’s the perfect venue to do so as well, given the fact that Lime Rock and the Corvette have shared some special moments together in the past, including the debut of John Greenwood‘s “Spirit of ’76” Corvette and a Corvette Racing win in the final IMSA GTLM outing at the track back in 2021.

“From the moment that it was first displayed in 1953 to today, the Corvette has always delivered unforgettable design,” said Michael Simcoe, Vice President, GM Global Design. “It will be really special to have so many examples of competition, street and one-of-a-kind concept Corvettes all in one place at Lime Rock Park for the Historic Festival. Through the generations, the Corvette design has evolved, but the brand has always maintained a central role in the automotive landscape and it is fantastic to have that role celebrated at Lime Rock Park.”
