Insane 4,062 Horsepower C7 Corvette Aims to Destroy Its Competition

Watch this wicked C7 Corvette lay down some crazy numbers on the dyno before it heads out to dominate the Pro 275 class.

We’ve seen our fair share of Corvettes over the years packing massive amounts of horsepower, many of which pull double duty on the track and on the street. But nothing quite compares to longtime Pro 275 drag racer Ziff Hudson‘s newest ride – this C7 Corvette that pumps out a simply ridiculous 4,062 horsepower – at the wheels, no less. In this video from FuelTech, we get to take a much closer look at Hudson’s future Pro 275 dominator and find out what makes it tick.

Obviously, this C7 Corvette is far more race car than street car, as Pro 275 rides are “stock appearing race cars,” by definition. Regardless, this one was put together with only the very best parts by the folks at Teddy Houser Race Cars. Most notably, the Corvette’s all-billet aluminum powerplant – a small block of unknown displacement – gets its juice from a 140mm Harts Turbo turbocharger running Turbosmart electronic wastegates and a FuelTech FT600 engine management system, all of which help it achieve its sky-high output.

That mighty motor is mated to a Rossler three-speed transmission that’s been fitted with a lock-up converter and M&M Transmission shifter. Clearly, Hudson is pushing the very limits of what one can do with a turbocharged small block here, though the results speak for themselves as this C7 Corvette simply annihilates the dyno. Regardless, the goal here wasn’t just peak power – Hudson also wanted to dial in his powerplant for a specific purpose.

That purpose is to get better on the front half of the track, running with Hudson’s supercharged and nitrous-injected competition better than he did in his old Mustang racer. That car wound up being a bit inconsistent, which is a killer in the world of drag racing. This C7 aims to fix that by not only being faster than the competition, but also a car that can lay down similar e.t.s each and every time it rockets down the track. We’ll find out how well it does that soon, as Hudson plans on competing in some no-time racing outings before heading to the Bama Outlaws event this September.
