No expense was spared building this C7 Corvette Z06 for SEMA, which could make it a good deal now.

While the flashy new C8 Corvette gets the bulk of the attention these days (and deservedly so), it’s easy to forget what a great platform the C7 was, too. This is particularly true of the C7 Corvette Z06 and ZR1, cars with astronomical amounts of power and endless style that still looks modern today, years after it made way for the new mid-engine Corvette. But when it comes to this C7 Corvette Z06 up for grabs at AutoHunter, someone is likely going to get a deal, because it’s virtually impossible to recoup the $50,000 in mods this former SEMA star has onboard.

That might seem like an absurd amount of money to spend on a C7 Corvette Z06, mostly because it is. However, it isn’t unusual in the world of SEMA show cars, which need to stand out from the crowd, no matter the cost. As such, this particular car was treated to a brand new, custom paint job right out of the box, as well as a slew of carbon fiber parts including the air dam splitter, bumper canards, vented hood, fender vents, rockers, wheel moldings, side view mirrors, taillight bezels, rear diffuser, APR Performance rear decklid spoiler, and an adjustable rear wing.

The retired show car rolls on a set of forged aluminum CCW OZ wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, while the factory suspension was enhanced with upgraded sway bars, end links, and a full Advanced Flow Engineering PFADT coilover suspension. Peek inside, and you’ll see a bone stock black interior with no added custom bits or pieces, but that’s because the rest of that aforementioned upgrade money was spent under the hood, where it counts.

There, the factory supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 has been treated to a carbon fiber intake, an Advanced Flow Engineering exhaust with downpipes and crossovers, a Scorcher tuner module, and a carbon fiber heat shield. Output comes in at a healthy 790 horsepower, which flows to the rear wheels via the factory 8-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The seller of this sweet C7 Corvette Z06 may very well get most of their money back, given how crazy the market currently is, but we wouldn’t bet on it. After all, modified cars rarely do, though this isn’t just any old average modified car, in all fairness.
