Current 2023 Corvette Constraints Include Base Model, 70th Anniversary Package

Those looking to order a 2023 Corvette will find some familiar constraints and some new ones.

Unfortunately for fans of the model, the C8 Corvette has been a victim of the supply chain since nearly the day it launched. First came the pandemic and all of its related production disruptions, including plant shutdowns and the chip shortage, with many more constraints coming in the years since. Most recently, that included base, non-Z51 Performance Package equipped cars, and now, the ordering cycle for June sees some trends continue and other, new constraints popping up, according to Corvette Blogger.

There is some good news to be found in this information, mainly the fact that those wanting to order a base Stingray without the Z51 package have a better chance at getting one now than last month, as the percentage available to order (of the total production mix) has improved to between 33 and 41 percent, depending on dealer zone. Additionally, 33-41 percent of those vehicles can also be equipped with the FE2 Magnetic Ride Control, a popular combination for those that want the enhanced suspension without the other stuff (and cost) the Z51 package comes with.

Those that want the Z51 package are in much better shape, however, as a healthy 67-75 percent are available to order with that particular option, while FE4 Magnetic Ride Control is also readily available at around 75 percent. But that’s pretty much where the good news ends and the bad news begins.

On the flip side, the 70th Anniversary Package is still sitting at zero percent availability, reportedly because GM can’t source the package’s Q9A red stripe wheels at the moment. Rumors indicate that this package may not be available until late summer, a disappointing development after this package was supposed to be one of the first ones available for the new and historic model year.

Meanwhile, GM changed suppliers in terms of who it sources the ZZ3 Engine Appearance Package from, so that option also isn’t currently available. Those that want a set of Jake all-weather floor and cargo mats are out of luck as well, as both of those features also have zero availability. Unfortunately, for many parts, options, and packages, that seems like it will be the case for the foreseeable future, too.
