Chevrolet May Have Just Leaked Photos of the 70th Anniversary Corvette!

70th Anniversary Rear

We know Chevrolet has to be planning a 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette – could this be it?

Rumors of the 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette ran wild this week. Photos of a 2023 Corvette Z06 wearing special paint and a unique trim package surfaced Friday, including on our own forum site. According to several forum members, these pictures were leaked on GM’s 2023 Corvette configurator site. And if true, we’re getting a glimpse of the next special-edition Corvette.

According to the sources, the 70th Anniversary Edition is available in two unique colors, White Pearl Metallic Tri-Coat or Carbon Flash Metallic. Both colors feature contrasting racing stripes and Edge Red brake calipers. Unique wheels painted Carbon Flash with Edge Red accents are also included. Finally, Carbon Flash painted mirrors and matching spoilers complete the special appearance package.

70th Anniversary Interior

Inside, the interior features special White Ceramic leather GT2 seats with red stitching. Red seatbelts, and a steering wheel covered in Alcantara are also included. Special 70th Anniversary Edition badges appear on the seats, steering wheel, and doorsills. An Edge Red engine cover, rear bumper protector/trunk cover continue the red trim theme in back. And a special 70th Anniversary Edition luggage set completes the package.

The 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette includes the naturally aspirated LT6 V8 from the regular Z06. This flat-plane crank 5.5 liter engine currently produces 670 horsepower and 460 lb. feet of torque. We don’t know performance numbers for the Anniversary Edition, but the engine could get a slight power bump. Regardless of power numbers, this car includes the Z07 Performance Package with larger carbon ceramic brakes and Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires. The FE7 suspension with Magnetic Ride Control is also included, along with a full carbon fiber aero package.

70th Anniversary White

As of this writing, the 2023 Corvette Z06 configuration tool is not available. Searching for the link only shows a page for the 2023 Z06. And the configurator takes you to the 2022 Corvette. The appearance options are not available in either location. The White Pearl Metallic Tri-Coat and Carbon Flash Metallic exterior colors don’t exist. Nor do the Carbon Flash wheels or unique interior trim.

But we still expect to see a 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette. Chevrolet has celebrated every major Corvette milestone starting with the 1978 Silver Anniversary Edition. And in every case, the special edition featured unique colors and trim packages for the top model. If we know anything, it’s that Chevrolet likes to keep things consistent. A 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette is undoubtedly in the works. And this could very well be it.

Stay tuned!
